Galtha is a place of negotiating knowledge; a site for learning, ceremony, negotiation and decision-making. Galtha is also the spear used to symbolise that a decision has been made by everyone and for everyone.
"Galtha is everywhere; wherever Yolngu and Balanda people are acting properly there is the possiblity of galtha" (Marika-Mununggiritj & Christie 1995).

The sound of a paradigm shifting
Today's issue of Inside Story has an interesting article on Rudd's anti-neoliberalism essay by Geoffrey Barker. I would have preferred a more in-depth analysis of the essay and Howard's response but nonethless it's an interesting read.
